Welp. 2024 didn’t exactly go as planned. Thank goodness it ended with some amazing clients and priceless photos!Â
I have to admit, after last year I was really gearing up for a wild summer/fall in 2024. If you’re reading this post, you probably know that miss Monroe (Roe) and I lost her dad in September of 2023. I basically took the year off to focus on healing and figuring out a whole new life. I spent all winter thinking about the coming year and really appreciating my amazing clients for their patience and support. As summer 2024 approached, I was so excited to jump into senior photos and then family shoots for holiday cards. Unbeknownst to me, my knee had a whole other plan for me. It decided to explode right in the middle of a family session on the beach on June 2nd. I dislocated my knee, fractured my tibia, and tore a ligament. All in 1 step. Twas not fun. After a few weeks wait for the MRI, it was decided I would not undergo surgery, but do (what I felt was) pretty intense physical therapy…but I would be out until September. So that was that. My whole summer, a few weddings, and a whole bunch of fun out the window. I’m super thankful for my mom, Monroe, and friends for their help while I was laid up and also for their patience with me because I complained…a lot.Â
Senior Photos 2024
Cut to September 1st. Officially back in business! I started out strong with an amazing surprise proposal for the cutest couple. It was so fun to see her reaction and their excitement. She said yes, obviously. Once I saw my knee was ready for fun again, I was super psyched for the coming seniors over that next month.Â
I had seniors from a bunch of different schools. I love senior photos because I love capturing who they are now and see their personalities come out. Senior photos represent so much for a young person…and I get to capture it! I was especially excited to photograph a few ballerinas, one of my other loves!
It should also be noted that they look at the camera, don’t run away, and rarely pee their pants. As a photographer with tons of toddler clients, these things are quite appreciated. Here are some of the amazing seniors I had the honor of capturing this past year!Â
Fall family Photos 2024
I love fall photos. Families are so fun…even the wild toddlers! I didn’t really do designated mini sessions days, but I did solo minis in the field because fall snuck up on me so fast. I’m already thinking of mini session ideas for next year! Here are some of the adorable families I got to photograph this fall! I love getting Christmas cards and seeing our photos on there, makes me feel so special!Â
